Students who have earned 6.0 or more credits prior to August 1, 2023 will follow the 2022-2023 graduation requirements. Students who have earned less than 6.0 credits prior to August 1, 2023 will follow the current graduation requirements.

Notes

  • An elective is any course of your choosing outside of the required and/or designated core courses.
  • Students transferring to NorthStar Academy are required to take at least 25% of their coursework with NorthStar Academy in order to be eligible for a NorthStar Academy diploma. Even students who transfer in eighteen (18) or more credits from another accredited institution will be required to take at least 25% of their coursework at NorthStar Academy. This translates to a minimum of 6 NSA credits for students planning to earn the Standard Diploma and a minimum of 6.5 NSA credits for students planning to earn the Advanced Diploma. Students who wish to graduate from NorthStar Academy must be actively enrolled in NorthStar Academy during the academic year in which they complete the NorthStar Academy graduation requirements. All credits from outside NSA must be completed and transferred to NSA by July 31 of the school year they intend to graduate. If this deadline is not met, the student will be required to enroll in a course at NSA to maintain active status required for graduation. For students transferring unaccredited, homeschool or non-US credits, the 6 NSA accredited credits must minimally consist of:

    • 1 credit NSA English taken during the first year
    • 1 credit of 400-500 level English during the final year
    • 1 credit of 300-500 level mathematics
    • 1 credit of 300-500 level social studies
    • 1 credit of 300-500 level science
    • 1 credit of Worldview
