From the Teacher

This is not simply a literature course where we read a few good fantasy books. We will not study a particular book because it is a good story. It is a course on discernment, teaching students how to discern worldviews as described by both authors and characters in fictional stories. Too often when Christians pick up a novel, they turn off their discerning filters and open their minds to whatever is being discussed, picking up worldviews without even realizing it.This course is designed to help students be more discerning about what the message is in the story and more critical about the ideas and more sensitive to what is and is not compatible with a Christian worldview.
