Are you feeling confused about how to make big decisions for the future? Not sure you know yet what you want to do when you finish high school? Maybe you are certain you already know the career path you will take? Regardless of where you find yourself, this course is for you! A study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2010 showed that the average worker held 11 jobs from ages 18-44. Through this career exploration journey, you will discover more about your personality, vocational strengths, and work style preferences while also exploring the world of work and future career options that appeal to you. During several weeks of the course, you will complete one or two internships in your local community, which means you will receive credit for trying out a job or two that you might like to have in the future! “Preparing for Career Success” is a course that will provide you with the information and tools you need to navigate many of the education and career-related decisions ahead in your life.
Students must complete an internship at 1 or 2 locations to successfully complete the requirements of this course. The student and supervisor will be responsible for initiating and scheduling all internships. This course is intended for juniors and seniors who are eligible to work in some capacity in their local communities.
