Description:
The Dual Credit AP Language and Composition course is a dynamic exploration of language, arguments, and critical thinking. Students are given opportunities to craft compelling arguments supported by clear claims and evidence, write thesis statements that demand thoughtful proof, and use rhetorical strategies to analyze and create persuasive arguments. Students will also engage with the components of the rhetorical situation—exigence, audience, writer, purpose, context, and message—to shape arguments that resonate with diverse audiences. Opportunities to develop voice will also be presented where students will strategically use tone, syntax, and word choice to guide readers through effective reasoning. Students will refine their ability to interpret, evaluate, and produce sophisticated texts, equipping them for academic and AP exam success.
Special Notes:
This course is Dual Credit eligible through our partnership with Colorado Christian University.
The Dual Credit fee for CCU is included in the fee for this course.
