FROM THE TEACHER
Have you ever wondered why the Vikings were made to seem scary or what is meant by the saying, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”? You’ll learn about both in Global Perspectives 1: Ancient Western History. You will become historians studying the ancient western world and apply your learning to today’s world. Did you know that ancient history impacts us today? It does! You’ll discover 8 units about how your life today was impacted by people who lived more than 1000 years ago. This is not your typical history class where you make timelines, crafts, and memorize facts about old people. Instead, you will learn to ask your own questions about history and connect it to your life today. This is your chance to join us on an adventure of a lifetime! You will travel back in time to discover the Romans, Vikings, Greeks, Egyptians, Europeans, Mesoamericans, and Native Americans and their connection to you today.
