Junior High / Middle School, Grades 7-8
Rigorous academics and acquired technology skills wrapped in a Christian worldview. Our middle school is designed to prepare NorthStar students for their upcoming high school courses.
Students will see different perspectives on various topics as they participate in discussions with students from around the world. While academics are paramount, NSA middle-grade students also have opportunities for social development. Students are able to make international friends and participate in Bible studies and groups.
Fully Accredited
NorthStar Academy (NSA) is an online, fully accredited Christian school that currently offers over 200 courses to students in grades 4 through 12, providing a complete academic and diploma-granting program.
NSA is accredited by both Cognia and ACSI. NorthStar Academy was founded to provide an online education facilitated by godly teachers dedicated to providing excellent education through a sound curriculum in partnership with students, families, and schools worldwide. Academic and spiritual readiness is achieved through faith-based, student-centered courses led by credentialed teachers who challenge students through engaging, standards-based content.
BIBLE
Students will gain an understanding of introductory Christian doctrine, including salvation, the study of the Bible, and the power of prayer. Students will learn how to live out their love for God and share Him with others.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Students learn from multiple texts and communicate their learning through well-crafted sentences, paragraphs, and essays. Developing vocabulary and language skills will assist students’ growth as readers and writers.
MATH
Our Pre-algebra and Algebra 1 courses help students explore algebraic concepts through daily lessons that include teacher notes and videos, practice, application, and review.
SCIENCE
Students will use labs, quests, and creative projects to learn about earth science, biology, and physical science. These courses focus on critical thinking with guidance.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In social studies courses, students will use reading and comprehension, creativity, and critical thinking skills to understand global perspectives in modern world history, U.S. history, and world leadership.
ELECTIVES
Electives generally fall outside of the core academic subject areas. Electives may reflect a student’s interests, introduce or improve skills, or be directly related to a career direction.
