Pre-Algebra EVP
Description:
This course helps prepare students for Algebra 1. Students will be guided in their learning through written material, videos, and web-based activities and assessments. Students are regularly required to reflect on the concepts they are learning, to explain their work, and to communicate their understanding of key concepts.
Key concepts covered in this course include the following: simplifying expressions, single variable equations and inequalities, percent and proportions, linear functions, systems of linear equations, irrational numbers and radicals, area and volume, transformations, and scatter plots.
Special Instructions:
*As part of the EVP program, this course will have a live class requirement once a week at a set time; please see the website for time choices. This live class will include teaching, discussion with classmates from around the world, demonstrations, questions and answers, and other aspects of a live classroom. Students will have weekly due dates and stay on a traditional coursework schedule.

In EVP Pre-algebra, we will go through the material week by week to help each student become more confident with his or her math skills. In this format we will work on each unit together so that you will never feel that you are alone and struggling. Also, there will be firm due dates so that you won’t fall behind!
