Wisdom Literature
Description:
In this course, students will explore how God introduces himself to us as the source and creator of Wisdom. As members of creation, God not only gives us the opportunity, but also encourages us to go to Him for wisdom, and also to practice wisdom as he builds are capacity to live wisely.
FROM THE TEACHER
We are made or broken in our ability to make wise decisions on a daily basis. However, the process of getting wisdom embedded into our minds in such a way that we can quickly access it whether we are in the midst of tough times or good times can be challenging.
We will not only be learning the wisdom that God has made available to us in the wisdom literature section of the Bible (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes), but we will practice acquiring and integrating some of that wisdom into our daily decisions. I’m looking forward to asking our biggest questions and seeking the wisdom of God with you in this one semester course.
If there are books and materials for this course, they can be purchased from our Online Bookstore.
Student Feedback
I loved how this course wasn’t concerned so much with my knowledge and how much I know, but rather with my spiritual growth. I have definitely learned to see God more clearly through this course. I have learned many valuable things that I can take with me for the rest of my life.
This course was great and it was interesting. It was different from my other classes because in those, I have to memorize facts and dates and things, but for this class it’s more about how to live wisely instead of memorizing different things.
This class has been my favorite class that I have ever taken at Northstar (and I’ve been taking classes here for the past 4 years). It was really encouraging and every time I saw that something had been graded, and I was really excited to see what was said! Thank you so much for making this class so much fun and for opening my eyes to the lessons in these books of the Bible.
